General Information
Are you going on vacation, a weekend getaway, or unable to care for your cat temporarily for another reason? And do you want your cat to lack nothing during this period? We have extensive experience with cats and will take care of your cat just as they are used to. You can leave home with peace of mind.
Procedure
How does it work?
If you’re interested, send a message via the contact page, and we’ll get in touch withyou as soon as possible. Of course, you can also call or use WhatsApp.
After you’ve reached out, we’ll schedule an informal meeting. During this visit, we’ll get to know you, the cat, and the house. We’ll put the agreements and all information about the cat’s care in writing to ensure that we are all on the same page. Any other necessary details to make the cat care period smooth will be discussed. You can also indicate and physically show us what we need to pay attention to. You’ll always receive a copy of the agreements made by email.
What do we do?
- Professional care for your cat(s).
- Daily cleaning of the litter box.
- Cleaning up any accidents.
- Administering medication.
- Ample attention for your cat, playing, and cuddling if the cat desires.
- We'll keep you updated on their well-being by sending messages or photos via WhatsApp.
- Taking care of plants, collecting mail from the mailbox and keeping it out of sight.
- Taking out and bringing in the trash bins on designated days.
- Visiting your own veterinarian if necessary. (additional fee, see rates)
- Caring for other pets. (upon discussion)
- Vacuuming the areas where the cat spends time.
- If you have any other specific requests, we can discuss them during our introductory meeting.
What do we expect from you?
- Ample supply of food, cat litter, and any necessary medication at home.
- That your cat is dewormed and free of fleas.
- If your cat has (chronic) respiratory symptoms such as sneezing, coughing, or eye discharge, please inform us. We will then assess whether the pet-sitting period can proceed.
- Notification upon your return home so that we know your cat is back in good hands.
- Promptly inform us of any changes during the pet-sitting period.
- If the cat unexpectedly falls ill, we will immediately consult and, if necessary, visit the veterinarian with the cat. All resulting costs will be entirely your responsibility as the owner of the cat and will be invoiced.
Terms and Conditions
You are expected to have your cat(s) vaccinated against Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Feline Panleukopenia. It’s also important that your cat is dewormed and free from fleas. This is not only important for you and your cat, but also to minimalize the risk of infection for the other cats we work with. The complete vaccination history of the cat is taken into account when determining whether your cat is vaccinated according to the requirements of Kattenhotel de Sprong.
Vaccinations against Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Feline Panleukopenia are mandatory.
The Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis vaccination should be administered annually, and the Feline Panleukopenia vaccine should be given every 2-3 years. For each reservation, we require a copy of each cat’s vaccination booklet to verify that vaccinations are up-to-date for the care period.
-Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis: administered at least 3 weeks prior to the cat caretake period and not older than 11 months on the day you return home.
-Feline Panleukopenia: administered at least 3 weeks prior to the cat caretake period and not older than 2-3 years on the day you return home.
Please note! If your cat has not been vaccinated for several years, a booster vaccination will be necessary. In total, 6 weeks are needed to meet the vaccination requirements, meaning you need to visit the vet at least 6 weeks before the start of the care period. Protection is optimal from 3 weeks after vaccination. If vaccinations are given less than 3 weeks before the start of the care period, we will not be able to care for your cat. If you have any questions or concerns regarding vaccination status, please contact us.
Administering medication is no problem. We appreciate receiving all important information in advance.
RATES
During the introductory meeting, we explain what you can expect from us. Any additional tasks outside the standard rate will be discussed and documented in the contract. This ensures that everyone is aware of what to expect.
Region 3
- Administering medication is included in the price.
- Rates are calculated based on the distance in kilometers from the visit address to our base: Bernhardstraat 13, Nederweert.
- The rate is for a daily visit for up to 2 cats.
- For 3 or more cats, there is a surcharge of €2.50 per visit.
- For official holidays, a surcharge of €5,00 per visit applies.
- For bookings made within 24 hours (due to scheduling), there is a surcharge of €3.00.
- If necessary, and your cat needs to be seen by a vet, a surcharge equal to the cat caretake rate will be applied. Vet expenses are exclusive of the vet's fees.
- Rates do not include parking fees.
- A radius of 12 km from our base location is considered our standard working area. Beyond this area, a mileage fee of €0.50 per additional kilometer driven applies, due to the extra travel and mileage costs. (*Region 3)
- Public Holidays 2025: New Year's Day (January 1), Good Friday (April 18), Easter (April 20 and 21), King's Day (April 27), Liberation Day (May 5), Ascension Day (May 29), Pentecost (June 8 and 9), Christmas (December 25 and 26), New Year's Eve (December 31).
Key Service
During the introductory meeting, we make arrangements regarding the key service. Keys are never labeled with a name or address to prevent them from being traced back to your home (we label the key with your cat’s name). Our pickup service for keys costs €7.50, and returning the keys by us also costs €7.50. If you choose to bring the keys yourself and collect them after the care period, there will be no charge for this service.
* Pickup and return of keys for region 2 is €10.00.
* Pickup and return of keys for region 3 is €12.50.
Cancellation service
It can always happen that your holiday doesn’t go ahead. Even though canceling is virtually cost-free up to two months before departure, this period is not feasible for all cancellations.
As much as we would like to be more lenient with this cancellation policy, it simply isn’t possible. Kattenhotel de Sprong is a small hotel and also provides a cat caretake service. We have often turned down others for reserved spots and cannot fill those spots at short notice.
To resolve this issue for both parties, alongside the fixed cancellation policy, we offer an additional cancellation service.
With a cancellation service, you can cancel at any time, regardless of the reason. For instance, due to illness or the passing of your cat (or even yourself or a family
member), a negative travel advisory, or even if your cat goes missing right before your vacation.
For the cancellation service, we charge 10% of the total cost.
When you cancel your holiday, you will receive a refund for the canceled days, minus €25.00 administrative fees, credited back to your account. It goes without saying that the costs of the cancellation service are non-refundable.
You can indicate whether you want to add the cancellation service on the reservation form. The costs for this service will be separately listed on the invoice in the confirmation email.
You can cancel by calling, emailing, or sending a WhatsApp message to Kattenhotel de Sprong.
The cancellation service can be added within 7 days after the reservation is made. Reservations made within two months before the start of the cat care period (hotel or home cat care) are also eligible for the cancellation service. However, in this case, you will immediately enroll in the cancellation service upon making the reservation. Changing the reservation to a completely different period is considered a cancellation.
Once the pet sitting period has commenced, it cannot be canceled.
The cancellation service is not mandatory. If the service is not utilized, the cancellation policy stated in the Terms and Conditions of Kattenhotel de Sprong applies without exception.

Uw kat verblijft in Kattenhotel de Sprong in een sfeervolle ambiance in een eigen luxe suite, waar een dekbedje met een gestreken overtrek voor hem of haar klaarligt. Natuurlijk is er voor de gasten van Kattenhotel de Sprong ook een boeiende speelkamer, waar ze alleen (of met hun huisgenootjes) zullen vertoeven.
